HOPES FOR A FUTURE, UNTAINTED

Everything you ever wanted, but could never have

Things looked so near, yet remained so far

Like a ghost, of human body devoid

Knows not how love can be enjoyed

Fate’s plans, no one dare rent asunder

What is once written, sets itself in stone

Finding your path in that stony maze

Is like being in a fog thick with haze

Many seem to have it all, lives of plenty

A piece of paradise as if given freely to them

They flaunt it all, like peacocks in splendour

Strutting about no thoughts for humans lesser

You watch and give yourself the hope

All that glitters is never gold

Yearnings for now can stay unsatiated

Hopes for a future, a new world, pure, not tainted
