THE DARK AGES

At first there were the dark ages

 

When mankind's struggles against ignorance

 

Were removed by the candle of Enlightenment 

With time, the light of the flame dwindled

 

When hands of greed grabbed all they could

 

When hands of division rent asunder all that stood 

Let loose on earth, to rape and to plunder 

Men now watch with a sense of unease 

As darkness threatens an ominous return.........
